AEW’s first pay-per-view outside of Daily’s Place, All Out, has sold out in less than an hour. Very few “public” tickets were made available as most were sold during the pre-sale or through the Dynamite-Rampage-All Out triple pack.Continue reading → AEW All Out PPV is Sold Out
On the latest “ITF on Sportarnarium” radio show (replaying Saturday at 1:30P/E and now in podcast form), Doc and Brett discussed the massive third fight in the McGregor-Poirier saga and where it would land in the list of trilogies in MMA. It led to a broader discussion of the trilogies that, for good or bad, made MMA.
This list isn’t the “Top 5” that comes tomorrow (wink, wink, nod, nod)
Check out the slideshow of the trilogy fights that made MMA.Continue reading → Slideshow: Trilogy Fights that Made MMA
Anderson Silva returned to the boxing ring for the first time since 2005 and notched a split-decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. “The Spider” looked impressive in his outing and outboxed Chavez Jr. leading to speculation that Silva might have a new career path.
Silva expects to return to the ring “soon” as he mentioned in his post fight comments. It’ll be a lot sooner if Jake Paul has anything to do with it.Continue reading → Jake Paul Wants Anderson Silva vs Roy Jones Jr.
The highly anticipated lightweight title bout between Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos Jr. has been cancelled according to Triller CEO Ryan Kavanagh. Kavanagh, speaking to The Athletic, broke the news that champion Teofimo Lopez has tested positive for COVID-19 and is presenting symptoms. Lopez suffers from asthma and COVID could present a larger problem for someone with the affliction.
The fight is tentatively rescheduled for August 14 adding to an already crowded month of boxing. Lopez-Kambosos is a significant investment for Triller who paid $6 million for the fight.
We wish Teofimo Lopez the best in his fight against COVID-19 and hope for a speedy return to the ring.

Per Sportico, citing a source with Showtime Boxing, the exhibition attraction between Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather is expected to bring in right around 1 million pay-per-view buys. That would equate to approximately $50 million dollars in revenue for the event.
The YouTube star “took” the former world champion the “distance” in a bout that didn’t see a winner. It will be interesting to see if Jake Paul can beat is brother in the PPV buy category when he faces former UFC champion Tyrone Woodley.

Triller is making an attempt at legitimacy on the boxing front or at least the boxing broadcasting front. The upstart promotion has hired veteran boxing announcer Jim Lampley to call their fights.
Lampley, the longtime voice of HBO BOXING, hasn’t called a professional fight since his former company shuttered their boxing promotion in 2018. He will call his first fight with Triller on June 19 when Teofimo Lopez tangles with George Kambosos, Jr,
“Okay, Jim,” welcome back.
