UFC Vegas 37 Smith vs Spann DFS Breakdown

Anthony Smith VS Ryan Spann

Main Event time! Here we go! Smith is an guy who will day in and day out give it his best shot all over the weight divisions. Smith is an polished fighter with his all around game. Spann has interesting loses against one name as in Alvey…..smh. I don‘t like Spann here and the wins are not the best to me. I want Smith who should out class Spann especially where he doesn’t have good cardio. I want Smith here who is more prepared for this fight.

Ion Cutelaba VS Devin Clark

The CO-Main event and I love this fight. Ion is an mental fighter who can hang with the best and get in his opponents head. Clark is an cardio machine and wants to stay in the fight with the hook punches that are powerful. I want Ion though who should prove himself here.

Dana White Lashes out at “Scumbag” Media Members

Dana White grew the UFC into the sports entertainment Goliath it is by running his mouth and creating controversy. At times, there was a bit of charm to the brash White. He’s a Northeastern guy and that’s how people in that part of the States talk. What? You got a fuckin’ problem with that? See! Charm.

But over the past 4-to-5 years the act has become stale and eye roll educing. White has become another uber-rich guy who berates and belittles people simply because he can. His targets are just about anyone but usually it’s the fake news media because the media knows nothing and just stirs shit.

Sounds like a familiar, failed mantra.

White doubled down on his fury at the media on a recent edition of the Tough Business Podcast. The issue at hand was the media’s assertions that MMA fighters are DRASTICALLY underpaid.

Here’s what White had to say:

CM Punk Retires…from MMA

CM Punk is stepping away…from the Octagon. Punk, who returned to pro wrestling at AEW Rampage: The First Dance, removed his name from the USADA testing pool and notified the UFC of his desire to step away from fighting.

Punk famously left the WWE in 2014 and expressed his desire to take up the sport of MMA. The “Second City Saint” was a long time Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner and took up training at Roufusport in Milwaukee. Give credit where credit is due, Punk took the time but the work in and train for a sport that he had a passion for.

His official MMA record will stand at 0-1-1 with a loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203 and “no contest” to Mike Jackson at UFC 255. The Jackson fight was originally a unanimous decision loss however the fight was changed to a “no contest” when Jackson tested positive for a banned substance.

Punk won’t be walking completely away from MMA however. He will still be the color commentator for the New Jersey based Cage Fury Fighting Championship (CFFC).

The news was confirmed by MMA Fighting.

Jake Paul Adds to Tattoo Stipulation with Tyron Woodley

Let’s add some more drama to the Jake Paul-Tyron Woodley story shall we.

Paul and Woodley agreed that the loser of their “boxing” fight would have to get tattooed immediately following their contest in Vegas. The YouTuber went as far as to fly Tatu Baby to Vegas and positioned her ringside so the tat could be done right away. But Woodley never got inked due to the “disputed” nature of Paul’s split decision.

Woodley believes that he won the fight and thus no tattoo. He demanded an immediate rematch from Paul and Paul accepted the fight under one condition. Another tattoo, an “I love Jake Paul” tattoo. Fair enough. But Paul took to social media to move the goal posts once again.

Pacquiao’s Coach: Conor McGregor Doesn’t Deserve to Fight Manny

Conor McGregor is doing his best to stay relevant after suffering a broken leg and loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 10. “The Notorious” has called out everyone and anyone including boxing legend Manny Pacquaio. In fact, McGregor has been angling for a fight with “Pacman” for a long time now.

But it doesn’t seem like it’s on Pacquaio’s radar. If you ask Pacquaio’s strength coach Justin Fortune he will tell you McGregor doesn’t deserve that fight.

“McGregor is not a boxer. It’s not his sport. Manny’s not an MMA guy, it’s not his sport. Put Manny against McGregor in MMA and McGregor destroys Manny. Manny against McGregor in boxing, Manny destroys him.

It’s unfair to match them like that. Conor’s record is 1-5 in his last six fights. Why fight McGregor, McGregor doesn’t deserve to fight Manny, why give McGregor the payday?

What gives him the right to fight Manny? McGregor has loss after loss after loss.

Fight Logan Paul for the money, big guy, deserves it. I like Logan Paul, he’s got some skills.

He’s not wrong here. McGregor’s star is fading and it’s fading rather quickly. Perhaps the best thing for McGregor to do is go fight one of the Paul brothers and take the money and run.

Jared Cannonier VS Kelvin Gastelum- The Main Event! What a great story for Cannonier in the MMAgame. Kelvin is an great striker and very crafty. Cannonier has big striking and has been all over the weight classes. I think Cannonier shows up for this fight and comes out with an bang.

Clay Guida VS Mark O. Madsen- The CO- Main! Guida the legend against Madsen who is an wrestler that can tear you to pieces. Madsen has great ground and pound where he has massive power. Guida is an legend with amazing fight IQ who doesn’t give up at all in his fights. He is an vet in the game where he is gonna try to take the upper hand over Madsen. Super close fight to me.
