Bryce Harper Injury Update: MV3 Has Pins Removed

The Philadelphia Phillies have received some good news on the injury front. Designated hitter Bryce Harper had the pins removed from his surgically repaired left thumb according to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki. The reigning NL MVP will begin a hitting program immediately.

However, a timetable for a rehab assignment and return to the lineup is unknown.

2022 MLB Trade Deadline: Phillies Targeting Starting Pitching, Unwilling to Move Top Prospects

The Athletic’s Jayson Stark is reporting the Philadelphia Phillies have been targeting starting pitching ahead of Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline. Specifically, the Phillies are looking for a playoff-caliber starter.

The Phillies currently have a one-game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals for the final NL Wild Card spot. And Red October is in sight for the first time in over a decade.

So, while the Phillies are “in” on a starter, they’re also reportedly not willing to include any top prospects.

Woj Bomb: NBA Investigating the Sixers for Tampering

“Woj bomb” incoming, duck!

Well, there it is.

The NBA is investigating the Philadelphia 76ers for tampering according to the intrepid Adrian Wojnarowski. The investigation centers around James Harden’s rejection of his player option for 2022-23. Harden recently re-signed with the Sixers on a team friendly two-year, $68.5 million deal.

The Harden deal allowed the Sixers to sign PJ Tucker, Danuel House, De’Anthony Melton, and Trevelin Queen. This has made the NBA upset.

Art of War Cage Fighting All-Star Weekend to Return in 2023

One of the Northeast’s preeminent mixed martial arts promotions, Art of War (AOW) has announced the return of their popular AOW All-Star Weekend in February 2023. A venue for the event will be announced in the coming days according to AOW promoter Mike Bickings.

AOW All-Star Weekend 2022 was a massive success for the promotion. The two-night event sold out back-to-back nights at Live! Casino and Resort in South Philadelphia, PA.

All-Star Weekend 2023 will once again feature two-nights of fights.

AOW alums include UFC veteran Andre Petroski and recent DWCS 47 star Joe “BodyBagz” Pyfer.

The Philadelphia Fire Department is currently engaged in firefighting operations at Jim’s Steaks on South Street. The fire is currently at a 2nd alarm with exterior attack only due to the conditions of the structure.

The evacuation order was given by battalion chief 4 at 1053 hours.

Philadelphia Flyers Re-sign Owen Tippett

The Philadelphia Flyers announced the re-signing of restricted free agent Owen Tippett. The two-year deal is worth an average annual value (AAV) of $1.5 million.Tippett was acquired by the Flyers on March 19 from Florida as part of the Claude Giroux trade. 

The 23-year old recorded seven points (4G, 3A), averaged just over 15-minutes of ice time a game in 21-games with the Orange and Black.
