NFL Preseason: Eagles Defeat Cleveland 21-20

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Cleveland Browns 21-20 on Sunday in Cleveland. The win evens the Birds’ preseason record at 1–1.

Nick Sirianni chose not to play the Eagles starters instead he went with Gardner Minshew and the backups. The move proved meaningful especially for the offensive line. The Birds’ backup lineman dominated the Browns defensive front.

Stat of the Game

Wide receiver Deon Cain hauled in five receptions for 66-yards and a touchdown. The former Clemson Tiger put together a tremendous game and perhaps helped his chances of sticking with the organization.

Play of the Game

Third string quarterback Reid Sinnett hit Devon Allen with an absolute bomb for a 55-yard Eagles touchdown. It was a tremendous throw and tremendous catch.

What’s Next for the Birds

The Eagles travel to Miami for a week of joint practices with the Dolphins. The Eagles will close out the preseason on Saturday night against the Fins at Joe Robbie Stadium Hard Rock Stadium.
