ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting the Sixers and Ben Simmons have reached a settlement agreement regarding Simmons’s salary grievance.
Simmons filed a grievance after the Sixers withheld nearly $20 million from the embattled former superstar. Simmons never played a game for the team during the 2021-22 season and was shipped to Brooklyn as part of the James Harden trade.
As Woj points out, the Sixers maintain Simmons violated his contract thus the docking of his pay.
Simmons claimed his mental health was the reason for not joining the Sixers during the season. Apparently, Simmons mental health situation didn’t improve when he was traded to Brooklyn.
The diva He didn’t play a minute of NBA hoops last season.
The settlement agreement between the two parties is confidential. No terms have leaked at this time.
Hopefully, please God, this will be the end of anything Ben Simmons-Sixers related. At least until Simmons officially runs Kevin Durant out of Brooklyn and KD lands in South Philly.
