All Elite Wrestling is adding another title to the company portfolio. As announced on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, the long awaited AEW World Trios Championship will be awarded at AEW All Out on Labor Day weekend.
Trios, or six-man, championships have a long history in Mexico and Japan particularly in AAA, CMLL, and All Japan Pro Wrestling. The NWA/WCW, World Class, and Ring of Honor have featured Six-Man titles in North America.
AEW’s Tony Khan has teased Trios titles for a few years now. The physical titles, made by the famed Red Learther, have reportedly been made for over a year.
No teams have been announced for the AEW World Trios Championship tournament at this time.
