AEW Sets Date for Debut in Canada

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is going north of the border, eh.

The promotion announced their Canadian debut during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.  AEW will air Dynamite and Rampage from the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario on October 12 and 13, respectively. There were reportedly plans to tour Canada in mid-to-late 2020, however the tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  AEW President and CEO Tony Khan made it known that a Canadian tour was coming but it was just a matter of when.  The “when” now has a date.

Tickets for the two-night event go on-sale this Friday.

The Coca-Cola Coliseum is an interesting venue choice for AEW’s first foray into Canada.  The venue is home to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and holds around 7,700 for ice hockey and concerts.  The WWE routinely uses the venue for house shows in the Toronto-area or when the larger Scotiabank Arena is not available.
